As founder and owner of Legacy, Dan Lowe consults for the company in addition to his primary role as Chief Executive Officer for Legacy in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
With a deep entrepreneurial passion for innovative projects, Dan creates developments with a customer-centric approach. His expertise includes all aspects of the development process including leasing, marketing, entitlements, financing, and construction. Dan continues to share this experience with the company he founded, directing the company’s focus and forging relationships with tenants, financial partners, and municipalities. Dan’s relationship-oriented approach has been a trademark of his success. Dan’s inspired concepts define distinctive retail centers across the country, and many have changed the way markets trade and shoppers function. A few of these projects include the Legends Outlets in Kansas City and Sparks, NV; One Nineteen in Leawood, KS; Summitwoods Crossing in Lees Summit, MO; and Barrywoods Crossing in Kansas City, MO. The dozens of public-private partnerships he has helped create along the way have shaped communities and enhanced civic finances.
Dan began his career in the commercial brokerage business in 1987 with Cohen-Esrey. In 1995 he founded and was co-owner of RED Development, a full-service real estate company, at the forefront of outdoor lifestyle chopping center development.
Today, Legacy continues the RED tradition of innovation and success with renewed focus on value-add development. Dan also co-owns RED Brokerage, LLC, a regionally focused, Kansas City-based real estate services firm. Dan holds a BA and MBA from the University of Kansas and was inducted in the Bloch School of Business Entrepreneur Hall of Fame in 2014.
